Purge is the Twenty-First episode of the Record of Grancrest War anime series.

Summary

Because of the truce between the three factions, the Mage Academy goes on a hunt for all mages that refuse to disassociate themselves with their lords. Furthermore, it's revealed that all of the mages wands are being monitored by the Mage Academy so they can track their location if they chose to rebel.

The shocking news about the Mage Academy purge is disclosed to all of the lords. Siluca announces that they'll face off against the Mage Academy in Eramu and consolidate the factions to form the Imperial Army. In the afternoon of the following day, the Imperial Army will face off against the Mage Academy in Eramu. The lords and most of their mages agree to stay with the Imperial Army. Contrary to this, a small group of mages decides to void their contracts and pledge fealty toward the academy. With the sympathizers out of the way, the remaining mages break their wands so they can't be tracked or eavesdropped on.

Afterward, Siluca discusses matters with her foster father Aubest. They're soon joined by Aishela who still holds a grudge against their foster father. They all then discuss matters about past conflicts between them, but all in all, they reconcile.

Later after they all retire for the night, Aishela tries to assassinate Siluca, but is stopped by Irvin. Aishela openly admits they she tried to kill Siluca and would then assassinate Theo. Despondent and astounded by this turn of events, Aishela confesses that she's a spy for the Mage Academy. During her time with Siluca she has been reporting her every move to the academy. A sleepy Priscilla arrives at the scene and Siluca is relieved to see that she wasn't killed. Theo then appears from his Tent and has everyone gather in it.

Restrained to a chair, Aishela discloses that she was ordered by the Mage Academy to assassinate Theo and Siluca. Theo points out that she failed to assassinate them on purpose and could have abstained from committing to the order. On the other hand, Aishela had to follow the order as she has a magic crest on her left breast that'll stop her heart if she fails/disobeys an order. Just then, the magic crest activates putting Aishela through excruciating pain. Stepping in, Priscilla uses her Crest to dispel the magic circle, however, this also makes Aishela lose her Arts capabilities. She also believes that she should be executed for her actions, but Theo disapproves of that. This is because not only did Aishela purposely failed to assassinate, but she constantly saved Siluca and Theo's lives on the battlefield.

The group then discusses the matters about a hidden organization in the Mage Academy called Pandora would want to not end the age of chaos. Soon a messenger arrives and reports that several lords and artists have gone mad as if they've gone crazy. So the following day the Theo and group check out one of the camps that's surrounded by corpses, all victims of the lords and artists who failed their mission.
